Should you make a photo?

Do not prepare your own photo unless the agency or your transaction instructions specifically ask for one.

Where the photo is taken

The Idaho driver's handbook says a new instruction permit will include a photo showing a full front view of your face. Permits are issued through county sheriff's driver's license offices, and you must pass a knowledge test to get one. The handbook does not say separately whether Driver Training or Supervised Instruction Permits show a photo.

Online steps and photo upload

The handbook describes no online application for a new instruction permit; the online options it mentions are duplicates, license renewals and address changes. No option to upload your own photo was found.
