New Mexico Learner Permit Photo Requirements
Find out whether a learner permit carries a photo, where the photo is taken, and whether any part of applying can be done online.

Should you make a photo?
Do not prepare your own photo unless the agency or your transaction instructions specifically ask for one.
This page covers a learner (instruction) permit. It does not automatically apply to driver licenses, state ID cards, or every exception.
Issuing agency: New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division
Where the photo is taken
A teen applying for a New Mexico instructional permit completes and signs the application with a parent or guardian at an MVD Field Office. MVD's licensing manual says a new photo must be captured for every credential-issuance customer on every Field Office visit; its permit page does not say separately whether the permit shows a photo.
Online steps and photo upload
MVD offers online appointment scheduling, but the official pages reviewed do not describe an online permit application. Nothing says an applicant's own photo can be uploaded.
Photo law and rules
A photo-specific statute or rule for this credential has not yet been summarized on this page.
