Should you make a photo?
Do not prepare your own photo unless the agency or your transaction instructions specifically ask for one.
This page covers a state identification card. It does not automatically apply to driver licenses, learner permits, or every exception.
Issuing agency: Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles
Where the photo is taken
Nevada DMV takes the ID card photo at a DMV office. Even if you start a first ID card online with Quick Cards, you must visit an office to have the photo taken.
Online or mail renewal and replacement
Eligible ID card holders can renew online only if their current ID photo was taken within the last 8 years; if you need a new photo, renew in person. Nevada also offers mail renewal on form DMV 204, but the page does not say how the photo is handled by mail. Lost or stolen cards cannot be replaced through online renewal.
Photo law and rules
A photo-specific statute or rule for this credential has not yet been summarized on this page.
